Special Olympics State Tournament UPDATE

Just a reminder that Saturday November 10th is the date of the Special Olympics Football State Tournament. We have always had a great participation of officials in this event, and I would hope that will continue to be the case.

I would like to try to assign this tournament this year as I would any tournament. So with this in mind…if you are not available for November 10th to work 2 games during the day at Tates Creek High School then please go in Arbiter and block that date. I am going to begin assigning on paper this weekend based on the schedule of games from last year.
I have also attached 2 of the documents that I had sent earlier this year. New Rules and The Manual. Please keep this for further use.

August 6th Meeting: I will send out another email to confirm, but Frederick Douglass is scrimmaging Danville and Joe Stephan and I will be discussing about having the new officials going with Joe and a select group of officials to shadow and work the scrimmage. The details will be sent out by Friday.

Will be on Arbiter either very late tonight or early Monday morning.
JULY 29th- Next Meeting and 7-man
Second regular season meeting will be Monday July 30th.Same time and location. Be sure to be ontime….we will be going over 2018 Video of best Practices.

Also with all the bowl games the first 2 weeks…If any of you want to work the deep wing positions on a volunteer basis. Let me know. All the teams involved have consented. Send me a text if interested.

CKFOA Meeting Dates

CKFOA Regular Season Meeting Dates and Times:

  • July 23 and 30, August 6, 13, 20, and 27, September 19, and October 17 at 6:30pm.  Tentatively scheduled for Frederick Douglass
  • Training for new officials will start promptly after the regular season meetings in July and August ~ 6:45pm. 
  • Trying to set up an inter-squad scrimmage with Frederick on July 30 or August 6 to do on field mechanics.  


  • Business meeting/banquet date at Broadway Christian Church:
    • October 29 – Tentatively Location Time to be announced at a later date

CKFOA dues are now LATE- $75.00

  • CKFOA dues must be in by July 1 and are $50.  On July 2, it goes to $75.  No exceptions.

July 23rd-First General Meeting at Frederick Douglass HS- 6:30pm

The first 2018 CKFOA regular season meeting will be on July 23rd at Frederick Douglass HS.  The meeting will be conducted as follows:

  • General meeting of entire association will start at 6:30 pm and end at 7:45 pm.  
  • Training for New officials to start right after the general meeting and will continue from 7:45 pm to end at 8:30 pm.
  • Trying to set up an inter-squad scrimmage with Frederick on July 30 or August 6 to do on field mechanics.
